Your information
Privacy, explained clearly.
This policy explains what information BrickIntel uses, why it is needed, who it may be shared with, and the choices available to you.
1. Who operates BrickIntel
BrickIntel provides and operates the BrickIntel app and service. For questions about this policy, your information, or a privacy request, email brickintel.app@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
This may include your email address, username, password in protected form, profile picture, location you choose to display, favourite theme, privacy settings and Premium status.
Collection and app activity
This may include sets and minifigures you add, quantities, condition, wishlists, Collection Book progress, achievements, followed accounts, follow requests, preferences, and interactions needed to operate and improve the catalogue.
Brickset imports
If you choose to import a Brickset collection, BrickIntel processes the account or import information you provide to retrieve and add the relevant collection records. We do not ask you to provide your Brickset password directly to BrickIntel unless an authorised Brickset connection explicitly requires it.
Device, diagnostics and advertising information
The app and its service providers may process device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, diagnostic events, advertising identifiers and advert interactions. Premium users are not shown adverts and BrickIntel does not request adverts for them.
3. How we use information
- Provide accounts, collections, wishlists, Collection Books, insights, achievements and social features.
- Remember your settings and synchronise your information between sessions.
- Retrieve catalogue information, images and market-price information.
- Prevent misuse, protect accounts, diagnose faults and maintain service reliability.
- Show and measure adverts for free users, subject to the consent choices available in the app.
- Respond to support, privacy and deletion requests.
Depending on the activity, we rely on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing BrickIntel, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it.
4. Advertising and consent
Free accounts may receive adverts supplied by Google AdMob. Google may receive information such as the app name, IP address, device information, advertising identifier and advert interactions to deliver adverts, measure performance, prevent fraud and, where you consent, personalise advertising.
Users in the UK, European Economic Area and Switzerland are shown privacy choices where required. You can consent, decline, or manage advertising purposes through the consent controls. Declining personalised advertising does not necessarily remove adverts; it may result in contextual or non-personalised adverts. Premium removes advertising from BrickIntel.
Learn more in Google’s explanation of data used by partner apps and Google’s Privacy Policy.
5. When information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate BrickIntel, including:
- Cloudflare, for hosting, database storage, security and delivery of app services.
- Google AdMob, for advertising, consent management, measurement and fraud prevention for free users.
- Brickset and catalogue providers, when retrieving information or completing an import you request.
- Apple and Google, for app distribution, purchases and platform services.
We may also disclose information where legally required, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
6. Public and social information
Depending on your privacy settings, other BrickIntel users may see your username, profile picture, favourite theme, collection totals, selected collection information, achievements and follower relationships. Private profiles restrict access as described in the app. Do not add information to your public profile that you do not want other users to see.
7. Storage, retention and international processing
Information is retained while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. Some records may remain in secure backups for a limited period after deletion. Service providers may process information outside the UK; where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards are used.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can change many profile and privacy choices inside BrickIntel.
To make a request or delete your account and associated personal information, email brickintel.app@gmail.com from the address connected to your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong, unique password and keep your sign-in details private.
10. Children
BrickIntel is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when BrickIntel’s features, providers or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are published. Material changes may also be communicated in the app.
